Helioscreen’s Varioscreen® Roof Systems Roll Out on a Large Scale
An innovative automated external solar shading solution was chosen for the striking peaked atrium of the Grand Central Shopping Centre in Toowoombah QLD. In order to deliver the highest possible reductions in solar heat gain through the atrium under peak solar loads, 28 x Varioscreen® Retractable Sunroof systems were installed.
Depending on the fabric specified an automated external shading solution can reduce energy transmission by up to 85%. In this instance a bright blue heavy-duty sunscreen fabric was chosen so that even as clouds roll overhead shoppers are presented with an inspiring vision at all times in this the premier shopping centre of the Darling Downs.
The European-designed Varioscreen® uses an integrated positive lift system to drive the front bar and keep the fabric under constant tension. The structural design of the Varioscreen® gives unsurpassed stability and strength and allows complex installations such as a unique “bottom -up” opening design achieved here. Available in widths of up to five metres with a projection of up to six metres, two systems may be coupled to give a total width of eight metres. Powdercoated hardware and a huge selection of European and locally sourced fabrics mean Helioscreen’s Varioscreen® Retractable Sunroof can meet almost any design brief.
Modernise Your Home While Keeping its Character
Modernising your home is a smart way to make it not only more comfortable and convenient, but also considerably more valuable. People expect a lot of modern features in their homes these days, so if you ever hope to sell your place, you had better get with the times. The following are some of the ways you can update your home without ruining its old-school charm and character.
Paint
The best way to make your home look modern — but not trashy — is to put on a couple of fresh coats of paint. To avoid messing with the character of your place, repaint it in its original colours. Unless you happen to be a professional painter yourself, it’s a good idea to get experts in to do the job, as any house with a poor paint job will lose any character that it had.
The Benefits of Motorised Blinds and Awnings
Motorised blinds are revolutionising the way we look at light management, and far from being a gimmick that provides more novelty value than anything else, the technology allows blinds to last longer, stronger and better, as well as creating quite a few options for the eco-conscious family. Whether you want roller blinds without the unsightly cords (that somehow always manage to get tangled!) or a sophisticated solution for your outdoor awnings and sun shades, motorised blinds provide a whole host of benefits and long-term money-saving solutions.
